Optimal Design of the Superstructure of an Offshore Tourism Platform by Using Numerical Simulation

Abstract This paper aims to reduce the wind resistance of self-designed offshore tourism platform by optimizing its superstructure, and a transparent shape design is finally suggested. A numerical simulation was performed calculate load on test effect reduction. Two original scale models (sealed transparent) were established in accordance with requirements. The uses FLUENT software combined built-in self-compiled user-defined function (UDF). stochastic also applied basis Davenport spectrum. detached eddy (DES) model used solve NS equation. Numerical results show that reduction for subtle horizontal direction but can effectively drag force moment vertical direction. Moreover, variation under different attack angles decreases, which reduces fluctuations.
